In 2024, I became the founder of the Center for Democracy and Conflict Studies (CDCS) in The Gambia. The Center aims to engage citizens in important discussions on governance and conflict and what we owe each other as a nation.
In 2020, I was honored to receive both the Mellon International Dissertation Research Fellowship (SSRC-IDRF) and the Fulbright-Hays (DDRA)Fellowship. These awards, along with other institutional support from Northwestern University, facilitated my research in Mali,Burkina Faso, Senegal, Nigeria, and other African countries. My research allowed me to connect with influential figures, lesser-known voices, and marginalized individuals around the globe.
In the fall of 2023, I published my inaugural peer reviewed article in the Canadian Journal of African Studies.

The following fall, submitted several forthcoming articles to the flagship journal of the African Studies Association Reviews, including one for a special issue focused on terrorism.
